One of the biggest benefits of dental implants is that they preserve your jawbone. This rejuvenates your youthful appearance and keeps your bite functional.

The Dental Implant Process

1

Consultation

You’ll get started with a consultation with Springfield dentist Dr. Cline where we’ll provide a thorough assessment of your teeth, gums, and overall oral health to determine if you are a candidate for dental implants. This is your chance to ask any questions or raise any concerns so you can go into the process with peace of mind. This is a no-judgment office, so we’ll do everything we can to ensure you feel great about your decision.

2

Implant Placement

Next phase is placement. After coming to our office, we’ll numb your mouth so you won’t feel a thing. We also provide sedation if you feel anxious. Next, we’ll make a small incision into your jawbone and insert the biocompatible screw that serves as your artificial tooth root. Then comes the healing period, also known as osseointegration. This is the phase where your implant merges with your jawbone, setting a strong foundation for the restoration. The process typically takes 6-9 months before we place your new tooth.

3

Placement

After the healing period, you’ll come back to our office for placement. After attaching an abutment, an attachment place for the screw to connect to the restoration, we’ll carefully place your new tooth onto the abutment and cement it with a strong dental adhesive. Congratulations! You will walk out of our office with a beautiful smile and restored confidence.

FAQ

How do I take care of my dental implants?

Taking care of your dental implants is the same as your normal hygiene routine. Be sure to brush and floss regularly, using a soft-bristled toothbrush, and schedule checkups at Elevate Dental Studio to ensure the implant is functioning properly and catch any potential problems early on.

What are the benefits of dental implants compared to other tooth replacement options?

Dental implants offer several advantages over other tooth replacement options.

  • They are durable and can last a lifetime with proper care, making them a more long-term solution than dentures or bridges.
  • Dental implants are more comfortable and stable since they are anchored directly to your jawbone.
  • Dental implants look and feel like natural teeth, which can improve your confidence.
  • Dental implants also improve your overall oral health since they do not require the alteration of neighboring teeth, unlike bridges.
  • They can improve speech and eating abilities, and help preserve bone density in the jaw.
